Curt Schilling should be in the Hall of Fame

It’s safe to say that a lot of people don’t like Curt Schilling. And that might be an understatement.

Whether it be his hatred for and frequent run-ins with the media post-career, repeated sharing of offensive material on Twitter, or his seemingly arrogant attitude in general, Schilling does not have as many fans as he did when he was a player. But I’m firmly of the belief that if it happened once his career ended, he should not be penalized for it in the Hall of Fame race.

I’m Thankful for the New Collective Bargaining Agreement

I know we’re a week removed from Thanksgiving, but late on Wednesday night, the MLB Players’ Association and the MLB owners agreed to a new five-year collective bargaining agreement. You can read all the available information about the new pact here; MLB Trade Rumors is updating the page as more information about the new deal becomes available. The new CBA brings about a litany of changes to Major League Baseball, but, unfortunately for Cubs SP Jon Lester, one thing that did not make it into the new agreement was the elimination of pitchers needing to throw over to first. Sorry Jon, maybe you’ll have more luck in 2021.

November 30 Musings: Mets, Jay, CBA, E5

Much to the chagrin of the rest of the NL, Cuban slugger Yoenis Cespedes inked a 4-year, $110MM pact with the Mets yesterday. Cespedes, since joining the Mets at the trade deadline in 2015 has played 189 games, slashing .282/.348/.554 with 48 HR, 39 doubles and 130 RBI. Edwin Encarnacion remains a free agent and the MLB CBA is about to expire. Will the MLBPA and MLB come to an agreement before tonight’s deadline?
